Macca at 60

Many Years From..........Then
Sir Paul Mc Cartney turned sixty years of age on June 18th 2002.
He seems to have been around Liverpool so often in recent months that I keep on expecting him to walk into " From Me To You " at any moment. At the the end of Feb this year he appeared on stage at the Liverpool Empire George Tribute, within days
he turned up unannounced at 20 Forthlin Road, his childhood home happily posing for pictures with the local kids. A few weeks ago I caught him outside The Walker Art Gallery after the opening of his art exhibition and he'd driven himself there on his own in a small saloon car. He is back in Liverpool later this month to welcome The Queen during her UK Jubilee Tour, after this he will present the awards at Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall to graduates from The Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts ( L.I.P.A ).
All of this after completing his Driving USA tour AND THEN......getting married. Is he really Sixty years of age ?.

The people of Liverpool have marked the day in many ways :

The world famous statue outside our store in Cavern Walks shopping mall on Mathew Street is bedecked with flowers and cards and fans from around the globe have been taking photographs for several days.

The Liverpool Echo have produced a fantastic special souvenir edition costing just £1.

The Blue Meanies Beatles64's very own tribute band started the party at Batys Bar at the top of Mathew Street with their free to see regular "Thursday Nite Special"

The Cavern Club hosted a FAB four day festival and The Blue Meanies topped the bill on this very very special occasion. They played three sets whilst being filmed for American television. - My special report will follow soon.

Liver@pool Tours & Beatlescene jointly guided Tony Maddelone's USA Beatles Pilgrimage party throughout the duration taking part in the Guinness Book Of Records world record Biggest Skiffle event at Liverpool's Albert Dock organised by Mike Byrne from the Beatles Story.

They then hosted a rather special gig at the Casbah Club when The Prelies played with Pete Best.

Mr Eddie Porter and driver Les took the Magical Mystery Tour Bus on a special 90 minute Macca carry on backwards down memory lane trip.

The Grapes Pub on Mathew Street had four very "£$happy hours$£" and fixed framed Paul pictures above their famous "Beatle Seat".

And we at FMTY played Paul tunes and videos just like we always do, but maybe a little bit louder than normal !, people came and signed our birthday book and shared their Macca memories.

Sir Paul Mc Cartney is Sixty years of age. WE, on Mathew Street, Liverpool England, have REALLY enjoyed being a part of it all.

BUT...Paul....What are we to do ?...................When Your Sixty Four....................!!!!
